Health and Safety Information
At Flying Fox we care about your health, safety and comfort. In order to ensure the safest and most comfortable experience for you and other participants, please read the following important information, which will also help to assess your readiness and eligibility for a Flying Fox tour.
To join a Flying Fox tour you will need:
- A reasonable degree of fitness
- Full body control
- Full hand-eye-foot co-ordination
- A degree of comfort with heights
The following will adversely impact your ability to participate:
- If you are pregnant
- All heart conditions (including high blood pressure)
- All respiratory conditions
- Back, limb or joint injuries
- Missing limbs, inclusive of prosthetics
- Vertigo, dizziness, visual impairment (except wearing prescription glasses or contact lenses), and learning difficulties
- Consumption of alcohol or drugs
This is because the experience includes:
- Walking up steep steps and earthen hillsides
- Uneven, rocky surfaces and narrow passageways
- Exposure to all weather conditions, particularly extreme heat and aridity
- A 2 hour experience, including up to 1 km of walking
You cannot participate if fall into any one of the following categories:
- Are 09 years of age or under
- Are below 1.4 metres in height
- Are 127 kg or above in weight
- Have undergone surgery in the last 6 months or are experiencing ongoing symptoms
- Have experienced a fit or seizure in the past 6 month
- If you take essential medication
- Are visibly or suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs
All participants must complete a Risk Acknowledgment and Disclaimer form before being allowed to proceed to the course. If you believe your health and safety, or that of others, may be jeopardized by you taking part, do not participate. If you have concerns about your ability to participate safely, please consult your doctor.
Flying Fox reserves the right to decline participation. The health and safety conditions of climbing are subject to change at Flying Fox’s discretion. If you are refused admission because of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs, your ticket price will not be refunded.
